WELCOME TO
OLD GARDEN HOUSE RABBITRY
Hello, My name is Aimee. I am a small-scale hobby breeder of purebred mini Lops, focusing on vienna marked bunnies. We are not a 'business', my bunnies are my 'hobby' and they are all much loved pets. I am based in Redditch, UK. I do not profit from my bunnies, as all money from kits goes towards the upkeep and care of my pets to give them the best quality of life. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you have or advice you may need.

We stand out from the average breeder because not only are each of our bunnies part of the family, meaning babies are handled from birth to be social which makes them the perfect pet, but we also spoil our furry family rotten! They live in a 26x10 bunny area in a custom built insulated shed and sheltered outside area, with heating, air-con, 5ft x 2ft & 8ft x 2.5ft hutches, ample exercise and constant love.  Unlike some breeders, who only breed for type & quantity, here at Old Garden House Rabbitry, We will only breed from the friendliest & healthiest bunnies and do not have many litters- each litter is carefully planned & never unexpected. I aim to primarily breed for temperament, so families can enjoy well-tempered and friendly pets but I also have a long-term aim to improve the type, size and quality of vienna marked Mini Lops. I strongly believe in quality over quantity and putting the bunnies welfare first above everything!

HAPPY

Picture
My bunnies happiness is my number one priority! They get daily excersise in large pens, have a minimum of 5 toys each on rotation alongside lots of other enrichment. They non stop binky& flop!

HEALTHY

Picture
All my bunnies are fully vaccinated- and recieve a health check and vaccination booster every 6 months. All my adult bunnies are healthy and brought from reputable breeders or born here!

FRIENDLY

Temperament is one of the most important factors rasing bunnies as by nature bunnies are prey animals. So scare easily. Babies here are handled from birth and all my adult bunnies are extremly tame- I only breed from friendly bunnies!

Baby Bunnies from The Old Garden House Rabbitry, will leave me with a large ‘Baby Bundle’ to equip you with information to help your bunny settle, also including changeover food, birth certificate, a pedigree and lots more! With every baby that leaves me I offer a lifetime of advice and support. Babies here are handled from birth, meaning they are raised to be tame, social, friendly pets.. My babies are also socialised with my two gentle dogs & are brought inside my home daily for cuddles and playtime so are used to household noises. Bunnies here are given the best possible start in life. I aim to direct my bunnies to loving indoor pet homes looking for a 10year+ member of the family, I prepare my bunnies primarily to be house bunnies. However; with the right set up such as a shed or large hutch & run set up babies could live outdoors- although I only sell bunnies to outdoor homes May-September due to my babies being reared in a heated, indoor environment and not growing a winter coat. My prices are £55-£60 per bunny; this is depending on the type and colour of the bunny with a £20 of that being a non-refundable deposit. My adult bunnies are fully vaccinated but bunnies that will leave me will be too young the be vaccinated here. Therefore, if you chose to vaccinate, which I strongly recommend, this should be done at 10 weeks. Please note bunnies bred here are to go to PET HOMES ONLY.  If your circumstances ever change, we will always take the bunny back or help you find a suitable home.

I operate on a waiting list, people on my waiting list will be contacted in accordingly when babies are available to reserve at 4 weeks. I will work down people on my waiting list, which will be on a first come first serve basis. People on my list will get first refusal before bunnies are advertised on pets4homes.

What makes us different to other breeders? We stand out from the average breeder because not only are each of our bunnies part of the family, All babies are handled from birth which helps to socialise them & we also desensitise bunnies by exposing them to everyday household noises, our (gentle) dogs and various handling positions which helps to ensure they are the most friendly, happy and healthy pets as they can be! Please see our 'In the Nest' tab to see upcoming babies.

WHAT IS A MINI LOP?

Introduction : Miniature Lop (AKA Mini Lop) is a breed of domestic rabbit recognised by the British Rabbit Council (BRC). Confusion arises because, in the UK, the Miniature Lop is often commonly called (for short) the Mini Lop. It is, however, a different breed from the USA Mini Lop that is recognised by the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA).
Weight : Approximately 1.5kg but can vary on average from 1kg to 2kg depending if they are a true or false dwarf
Lifespan : 6-14 years
